What the markers are

Shen Sha are pattern labels built from specific stem and branch positions. Examples are traditionally associated with learning, movement, social visibility, leadership, solitude, or risk awareness.

Why stars are shown

The star rating shows how prominent a marker is inside this chart—for example, whether it falls in the Day or Month Pillar, appears more than once, or is weakened by another structural condition. It is not a probability or a measure of good fortune.

Dramatic names should not create dramatic claims

Some traditional names sound frightening. A responsible modern explanation converts them into ordinary cautions such as budgeting carefully, leaving a safety buffer, communicating earlier, or avoiding impulsive risk. They do not predict an accident, illness, divorce, or loss.

Never pay for fear-based remedies

Disputed folk markers should not be used to frighten users into buying a ritual or cure. The product will explicitly say when a marker is contested or varies widely by school.
